Script, italic and handwritten
Script and Script Bold are the classic calligraphic letters from the Unicode mathematical alphabets: they look like a pen with a flexible nib. Serif Cursive and Sans Cursive are italics, calmer and easier to read in longer lines. Anjalucia mixes letters from several scripts into a playful handwriting.
A few script capitals, such as ℬ, ℰ and ℋ, come from a different Unicode block than the rest of the alphabet. On some devices they look a little lighter or heavier than their neighbours; that is how the fonts of the system draw them.
Where cursive text works best
Use it for a name, a short quote or the first line of a bio. Script letters are wide, so a whole sentence can take two lines on a phone. Cursive styles cover only Latin letters; if you write in Russian or Ukrainian, try the styles on the main generator marked for Cyrillic.
Questions
Is this a real cursive font?
No, it is text made of Unicode letters that look cursive. That is why it keeps its style after pasting, even where you cannot choose a font.
Can I use cursive text on Instagram?
Yes, in the bio, name, captions and comments. Check the preview: Instagram limits a bio to 150 characters.
Why are some capital letters different?
Letters such as ℬ, ℰ, ℱ and ℋ were added to Unicode earlier than the rest of the script alphabet, so fonts sometimes draw them in a slightly different weight.
