These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the iCleanse mobile application (the "App"), provided by Dmitrii Stepanov ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The App
iCleanse is an iOS utility that helps you review and remove:
- Duplicate and visually similar photos
- Heavy videos and low-quality photos (blurry, over-exposed, oversized)
- Duplicate and outdated contacts
- Old calendar events and completed reminders
- Cached app data and other clutter
Photo and contact analysis runs on your device using Apple's standard frameworks. The App does not upload your photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, or reminders to iCleanse servers. Some features use Apple services, including StoreKit, AdServices attribution and SKAdNetwork measurement, user-initiated iCloud downloads, and place lookup.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the App. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal authority to accept these Terms.
3. License
Subject to these Terms, Dmitrii Stepanov grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and the Usage Rules in the Apple App Store Terms.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Rent, lease, sublicense, sell, or otherwise transfer the App.
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices.
- Use the App to violate any law or the rights of others.
4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
The App offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock Premium features, including unlimited photo and video deletion while the subscription is active. Plans currently offered include:
- Weekly Premium
- Monthly Premium
- Annual Premium
The subscription period, current localized price, and any offer that is actually available for your Apple ID and storefront are displayed in Apple's purchase sheet before you confirm. Availability of an offer is not guaranteed.
Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period at the then-current price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your Apple device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep Premium access until then.
Refunds. All payments are processed by Apple. Dmitrii Stepanov does not process refunds directly. Refund requests should be made through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Lifetime Free Deletion Pool
Without an active Premium subscription, you receive one lifetime pool of 10 individual photo or video deletions. Each photo or video that you confirm for deletion counts as one deletion, including each separate item in a batch. The pool does not reset daily or replenish after reinstalling the App. After all 10 deletions have been used, an active Premium subscription is required for additional photo or video deletions.
To enforce this lifetime limit, the App stores a small counter of deletions used in iOS app storage and Keychain. The Keychain record may remain after the App is uninstalled or reinstalled. It does not contain your photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, or reminders.
6. Destructive Actions — Deletions Are Permanent
The App can permanently delete photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, and reminders from your device and, where applicable, from your iCloud Library. Once those items are removed, they cannot be recovered by Dmitrii Stepanov. Photos deleted through the App follow Apple's standard "Recently Deleted" flow and may remain there for up to 30 days before permanent removal, unless you empty that album yourself. You are solely responsible for reviewing items before confirming deletion. We strongly recommend keeping a current backup (iCloud or iTunes/Finder) before running any cleanup.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Delete or manipulate data that you do not own or have permission to modify.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the App or iOS.
- Attempt to access any system or data that is not intended for you.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including all software, design, text, graphics, and other content, is owned by Dmitrii Stepanov or his licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license in Section 3, no rights are granted to you.
9. Third-Party Services
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and uses Apple services for purchases, campaign attribution and measurement, user-initiated iCloud downloads, and place lookup. These services include StoreKit, AdServices, and SKAdNetwork. Your use of Apple services is subject to Apple's own terms. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
The App does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. DMITRII STEPANOV DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE RESULTS OBTAINED FROM ITS USE (INCLUDING DETECTION OF DUPLICATES OR "LOW-QUALITY" ITEMS) WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DMITRII STEPANOV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US (VIA APPLE) FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD 20, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Changes to the App
We may add, modify, or remove features of the App at any time. We may also suspend or discontinue the App in whole or in part.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be announced in the App or on our website where reasonably possible. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you materially violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 10, 11, and 15) will survive.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Dmitrii Stepanov resides, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer in the European Union, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection laws, you retain the benefit of those laws.
