This Privacy Policy explains how Dmitrii Stepanov ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the iCleanse mobile application (the "App").
The short version: Photo and contact analysis runs on this iPhone. iCleanse does not upload your photos or contacts to its servers and includes no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Some features use Apple services, including StoreKit, AdServices attribution and SKAdNetwork measurement, iCloud, and place lookup.
1. Content We Do Not Upload to iCleanse Servers
The App does not upload or store the following content on servers operated by iCleanse or Dmitrii Stepanov:
- Your photos, videos, or their thumbnails, metadata, or EXIF data.
- Your contacts, calendar events, or reminders.
- The contents of assets in your iCloud Photos library.
iCleanse does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or attribution SDKs. This content-level promise does not mean that the App never uses a network connection: the Apple service requests described below are separate from iCleanse's on-device content analysis.
2. How the App Works — On-Device Processing
To find duplicates, similar photos, selected photo-quality candidates, heavy videos, stale contacts, and old calendar items, the App reads your data directly on your device using Apple's standard frameworks:
- Photos / videos — via the iOS
Photosframework (PHPhotoLibrary,PHAsset,PHImageManager). - Contacts — via the
Contactsframework (CNContactStore). - Calendar and Reminders — via the
EventKitframework (EKEventStore). - iCloud Photos — when you request an asset that is stored in iCloud, Apple's Photos framework may download it from your iCloud library.
Photo similarity analysis, photo-quality scoring, and duplicate grouping run locally on your iPhone. iCleanse does not send photo pixels or contact content to servers operated by Dmitrii Stepanov. Apple service traffic is described in Section 5.
3. Permissions You May Grant
Before the App can read any category of data, iOS asks for your explicit permission. You can grant, change, or revoke any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security, or in Settings → iCleanse.

If you deny a permission, the related feature simply won't work — the App will still function for the remaining categories.
4. Deletions
When you confirm deletion of photos or videos, they are sent to your iOS "Recently Deleted" album for up to 30 days, per Apple's standard behavior, before being permanently removed. Contacts, calendar events, and reminders are removed immediately through iOS, but may resync from iCloud if you have cloud sync enabled. iCleanse does not upload a copy of deleted content to servers operated by Dmitrii Stepanov.
5. Apple Services and Network Requests
Some App features communicate with services operated by Apple:
- StoreKit — handles subscription product information, purchases, renewals, and restoration. The App receives transaction and entitlement status from Apple so it can unlock Premium.
- AdServices attribution and SKAdNetwork measurement — the App asks Apple for campaign attribution after installation and retries on a later launch only when an earlier attempt was not definitive. Campaign or attribution identifiers returned by Apple are stored locally on the device and are not uploaded to an iCleanse backend. The App also reports SKAdNetwork conversion stages to Apple for first launch and after a verified weekly, monthly, or annual subscription purchase.
- iCloud Photos — Apple's Photos framework may download an asset from your iCloud library when you initiate an action that needs the local asset.
- Place lookup — when you use a place-based photo feature, a coordinate associated with a photo may be sent to Apple's reverse-geocoding or place-lookup service to obtain a place name.
Apple processes these service requests under the Apple Privacy Policy. iCleanse does not use these requests to create its own advertising profile or content database.
6. Purchases and Subscriptions
The App offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions (weekly, monthly, annual) through Apple's StoreKit. When you purchase or restore a subscription:
- Your payment is processed by Apple, not by Dmitrii Stepanov. Dmitrii Stepanov does not receive your payment card details.
- The App receives transaction and purchase status from Apple (for example, whether an entitlement is active or expired) as needed to unlock Premium features on your device.
- Apple may share limited transaction data with us (for example, aggregated or anonymized sales reports via App Store Connect). Apple's use of your data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
We do not maintain our own user accounts, passwords, or billing profiles for the App.
7. Diagnostics
If you choose to "Share iPhone Analytics with App Developers" in iOS Settings, Apple may make crash reports and performance data collected at the operating-system level available to us. We use that information to fix bugs and improve stability. You can turn this off at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. iCleanse does not upload children's photo or contact content to its servers; the Apple service traffic described in Section 5 may still occur when the related features are used.
9. On-Device Storage, Retention, and Uninstall
iCleanse does not retain your photo, video, contact, calendar, or reminder content on its servers. iOS normally removes the App's container data when you uninstall the App, subject to your own iCloud backups and Apple's service retention.
To prevent the lifetime free allowance from resetting after reinstall, the App stores a small anti-abuse quota record in iOS Keychain. That record is an integer count of how many of the 10 lifetime individual photo or video deletions have been used. A copy is also kept in the App's local preferences while the App is installed. The Keychain record can survive uninstall, reinstall, and some device restores. It does not contain photos, videos, contacts, calendar events, reminders, or their metadata.
Campaign or attribution identifiers used in measurement mode A are stored locally in the App's container and are subject to normal iOS app-storage behavior.
10. International Users
Photo and contact analysis runs on the device in every supported country, and iCleanse does not upload that content to its servers. Apple may process StoreKit, AdServices, SKAdNetwork, iCloud, diagnostics, and place-lookup service data in accordance with Apple's privacy policy and service terms.
11. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), LGPD (Brazil), or similar — for example, the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, or to object to it.
Because iCleanse does not upload your personal media or contact content to its servers, Dmitrii Stepanov generally cannot access, correct, export, or delete that content for you. You can manage it through the App and Apple's system tools. Uninstalling the App does not necessarily remove the Keychain quota record described above. If you have a request concerning information Dmitrii Stepanov may receive from Apple, contact us below; requests about data controlled by Apple should be directed to Apple.
12. Security
On-device data is protected by iOS's built-in security model, including app sandboxing and file protection. We rely on Apple's platform security for content the App reads and for the Apple services listed above. iCleanse does not operate a backend that stores your photo, video, contact, calendar, or reminder content.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you in the App or on our website. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
